Bank Podręczników mieści się w Miejskiej i Powiatowej Bibliotece Publicznej w Będzinie.

Nieodpłatnie wypożyczane były na rok dzieciakom podręczniki szkolne i zeszyty ćwiczeń. Bank Podręczników SDB ma swoje miejsce już od trzech lat w Miejskiej i Powiatowej Bibliotece Publicznej w Będzinie. Bank liczy około 2500 pozycji. Wśród nich wiele jest nowych, gdyż zakupiono kolejne podręczniki. Projekt, którego celem jest wyrównywanie szans edukacyjnych, pomoc w zaopatrywaniu w podręczniki szkolne cieszył się w 2008 r. wielkim powodzeniem i zainteresowaniem wśród naszych podopiecznych oraz dzieci i młodzieży będzińskiej.

Bank na początku 2009 roku liczył 2 958 książek. Wśród nich wiele jest nowych, gdyż 2009 roku zakupiono kolejne podręczniki. Projekt, którego celem jest wyrównywanie szans edukacyjnych, pomoc w zaopatrywaniu w podręczniki szkolne cieszył się w roku szkolnym 2008/2009 największym zainteresowaniem wśród uczniów szkół podstawowych (klasy 4 – 6) i gimnazjum. W minionym roku odnotowano większe zainteresowanie korzystaniem z podręczników przez młodzież licealną.
